Chinese Tech Company Xiaomi Is Gearing Up to Become A Giant

Xiaomi took the robot cleaning market by storm with the release of its smart vacuum robot back in 2016. It’s a wonderful product that manages to keep up, an even surpass some of the most expensive vacuum robots on the market.

Roomba and Neato are usually the names we think about when we talk about robot vacs, bit Xiaomi is slowly making a name for itself in this area. To prove it’s now a major player in the autonomous vacuum industry, the Chinese company released its second-generation device in November, and it’s already making waves.

Welcome the Xiaomi Second Generation S50 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

This device isn’t a huge improvement over the first model, but it should do a better job overall. It comes with improvements to its laser tracking technology and a mopping option. It’s basically a two-in-one robot vacuum, while the previous model could only perform a single task.

“It is a highly intelligent home cleaning device improved with 2 in 1 Sweep and Mop. You can not only sweep the floor but also polish your floor with the mopping pad. Can you imagine that you can walk on the floor with bare feet in no need of worrying about the debris or other granules?”

We should point out that the laser technology is similar to what Tesla uses in its vehicles. Seeing this tech as an important aspect of home automation really have our blood boiling with excitement.

It’s an interesting product, but that’s not the only thing Xiaomi has on the market.

Xiaomi smartphones and notebook

The company is mainly known for its “Mi” smartphones, and they are some of the best devices around. Android powers these mobile products, or at least, a customized version of the Google operating system.

As for the Notebook, it’s a Windows unit that is quite thin. The overall design is more comparable to the Apple MacBook Air than any Windows laptop on the market today.

“Uncompromising performance in an ultra light, ultra thin body. Mi Notebook Air features a 13.3″ display and full-sized keyboard in a full metal body,” according to the description.

Other smart devices from the company

Outside of the robot vacuum, Xiaomi is known for creating a wide range of smart products. These include a VR headset, air and water purifier gadgets, and even a drone.

To get the most out of Xiaomi’s smart devices, you’ll need the official Mi app that is available via Google Play and the app store.

With all of these devices on the market, the Chinese company could become a force to be reckoned with outside of Asia in the near future.
